Yet the vast majority of today's cloud providers continue to rely on these outdated principles. It's too costly to challenge them for an established player, and they're so lucrative… (don't kill the cash cow).
We are convinced that it is time to lay new foundations: ones that are better suited to today's needs, more efficient, more performant, and more secure. This is now possible thanks to a combination of market evolution factors and innovations, both in software and hardware.

The major Cloud providers have been adding layer upon layer and service upon service for 20 years. No one can make sense of it anymore, even though in the vast majority of cases, the needs are standard: the solutions shouldn't be this complicated, this expensive, or this unpredictable.
At unStack, we started from the lowest layers: the hardware, the operating system, the network, and the services; and stripped away everything that was not essential. The result is an elegant, simple, and highly effective architecture.
Simple does not mean easy; by removing the virtualization layer, for example, we had to address the challenge of multi-tenant isolation at the physical network level. This forced us to devise innovative, rigorous, and ambitious solutions.
The result? A level of security and isolation that no other cloud provider can match, and all without any extra cost or additional latency.
Similarly, we offer our core service as a managed Kubernetes solution, simply because it has become the industry standard for deploying and operating applications. The operating system we use to provide this service has been stripped of everything that isn't absolutely essential for running containers. The result is an ultra-minimalist, immutable Linux system with a minimal attack surface.
The same principles have been applied to the hardware; we're removing everything that isn't essential. Energy efficiency is an obsession, not just because it's a necessity for humanity in 2026, but because it contributes to the competitiveness of our offerings.
Rather than building an endless catalog of managed services that could lock customers in, we prefer to take a different approach: giving you control.
For example, at unStack, the managed database service runs directly WITHIN your Kubernetes cluster. Upon request, we deploy (and maintain) Kubernetes operators there that provide you with essentially the same level of functionality (instance creation, replication, load balancing, snapshots, backups, etc.).
The same features, the same ease of use, but in YOUR cluster, with bare-metal-level performance, and at no extra cost.
Do you want to leave us? Retrieve your data? Bring your infrastructure back in-house, or simply switch providers?
No problem, our operators rely on well-established open-source projects, so there's nothing stopping you from deploying them yourself elsewhere. Your data is stored in a standard format, and we don't charge any egress fees that might discourage you from transferring your data elsewhere.
Even though we come from the "sovereign cloud" ecosystem, our view differs slightly from the sometimes exaggerated rhetoric: what matters is your strategic autonomy and your freedom of choice, whether guided by geopolitical, legal, or technical imperatives.
